Food Safety Train Train Train

Why Businesses Will Require Food Safety Training Courses

For any business that is involved in the manufacturing, storing, preparing or delivery of food products it is essential that that correct protocol is followed and that the required standards are met in order to ensure that food and drinks are safe to be sold to consumers.  However it is not just those who are on the food production line that will require this kind of training.  Often other staff get overlooked when booking food safety training courses but this knowledge is as essential to them as it is to the rest of the workforce.

Engineering and maintenance staff, both internally within the company and externally, have a key role to play in the integrity of the product and throughout the course of the work they carry out could have a negative impact upon this product if they do not understand and appreciate the health and safety procedures that need to be followed.

Food safety training courses, much like internal audit training courses, can be booked with food safety and certification organisations to make sure that all staff who have a role to play in the food preparation process are equipped with the relevant knowledge and skills.  This may include plumbers and electricians, gas fitters, pest controllers, cleaners, engineers and third party maintenance staff.

The programme within these food safety training courses will cover areas such as the risks of cross contamination, personal hygiene, legal responsibilities and commissioning trials.  The various sections that make up this course will be tied in with the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and anyone taking the course will be tested by written examination to make sure that they have taken on board the information learned throughout the course.

Whether it is internal audit training courses to enable businesses to internally audit their practices and procedures prior to food certification recommendation or training courses to help businesses ensure everyone involved in the food preparation process is fully trained in the necessary safety and hygiene practices, it is very important that these areas are addressed without delay.
